Group attacks young Mother; Her Toddler Gets a Flying Kick to the Head, what would you do?

I am a firm believer that kids will be kids, sometimes they will do stupid things, goodness knows I have done enough of them myself, but what we have here is not such a case, this is evil, there is no other way to put it.

It’s a video where you don’t want to look, and yet you shouldn’t look away. This is where we are in 2020 — and not just because of the violence in the video.

It all began with a video that surfaced on social media this week. The violent incident took place recently at the Thomas Terry apartments in Brooklyn, Illinois.

According to published reports, the video showed three teens attacking a woman outside her home. This was ugly and dispiriting enough.

This is not what had me, and many others horrified; it was the fact that she had her four-year-old with her and what the teens did not only to her but to her child.

In the video, two teens can be seen punching and kicking the victim; her baby girl clearly can be heard crying and tries to hold on to her mother’s leg.

What happens next horrified me, hate to say it but had I witnessed this, would have picked up charges for murder.

Out of the side of a shot runs up a teen, jumps over the four-year child, and stomps on her head while he was in the air.

WARNING: The following video contains graphic violence and language that some viewers will find offensive.

The poster stated, “Couldn’t have been my baby I’ll be in jail on a F@#king murder charge.” In that I must say my sentiment would have been different, would not have mattered if it was my baby or not, I would have picked up charges had I witnessed such a event.

According to KMOV-TV, the mother and daughter were taken to the hospital. Neither was seriously hurt. The mother, Chelsea Bryant, was treated for a concussion and a sprained finger. The daughter, miraculously, suffered only minor injuries.

Three teens have been charged in the case. Tyreiel N. Brown, 19, faces two counts of aggravated battery in a public place. Chelsey A. Gordon, 19, faces the same charges. Both also will face charges of mob action by two or more people. A third person, a juvenile, also has been charged.

According to the Belleville News-Democrat, the charging document says Brown and Gordon “knowingly, by the use of force or violence, disturbed the public peace when they acted together with a juvenile male and struck and kicked Chelsea Bryant about her body.”

The mother of the young man seen delivering the flying kick to the toddler said, a bit dubiously, that her son didn’t mean to do it.

“He didn’t try to kick that baby; he tried to jump over the baby on to her and made a mistake,” she said, according to the Daily Mail, “My kid is not the type to kick a baby; accidents happen.”

Here is the problem i have, you see him looking at the child as he leaps over the baby, then delivers a kick all while looking down on the baby. To say this was without intent, this shows the problem with the upbringing there, the mother, rather then speak of how ashamed she is of such a act, then apologize, she makes excuses up for the act. If this was my child, I would end up in prison, for I would go after both.

I don’t advocate for violence, but sometimes cowardly and evil acts like this justify it, that the young man is a teen, that doesn’t matter. If my child did something like this, and he is the same age, I would deal with him in a way that he would never dare do this again, then march him to the police and turn him in, but not before first making him go to the people he did this to and apologize. I am afraid if I saw something like this from my son I would most likely be facing abuse charges.

What is worse, we have grown so used to this type of thing, we are becoming jaded to it, that is a sad testament to what we witness every day.

The worst part, what was the person recording this doing? If you saw something like this would you just stand there and take a video of it? I would never tolerate this, yet sadly this is what we are allowing. I am a child of the 60s, was a teen in the 70s, this would have brought the whole neighborhood out to stop such a act, kicking a child as we saw, this would have most likely sent me home in very bad shape after the people there dealt with me, then I would have to deal with my siblings and parents, that would have been even worse.

What we have is a society where rather then make children answer to their actions, we make excuses for them, well, most do, I sure don’t. I once had someone look at me like I was crazy when I caught my child trying to take something from the store, snatched him by his ear, drug him up to the service counter, told them to call the police (they did not, but put such a fear of G-d into him he never did it again), then I, with the agreement with the store kicked him out of the store for a year.
