Trump Outrages Congress By Banning Planned Parenthood from Stimulus

The Democrats are screaming that Trump is paying them back for making part of the stipulation of the last funding, that neither Trump or any of his children’s business will be eligible for any relief provided from the Coronavirus stimulus funds. This claim is coming from the Administrations cutting off of all stimulus money to Planned Parenthood; this has caused outrage among the left.

The administration will not grant the mammoth abortion provider any funding from the $670 billion Paycheck Protection Program, according to reports.

“Through the Paycheck Protection Program, President Trump is delivering vital relief to help small businesses keep employees on the payroll,” a senior administration official told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“It’s clear that the abortion industry shouldn’t be able to qualify for those funds, which are desperately needed by small businesses,” the official said.

According to Daily Caller, the administration official went on to say the Trump administration is committed to making sure relief funding lands in the hands of small businesses so they can save jobs, “not getting the government into the business of funding abortion.”

“While not all Americans share President Trump’s pro-life beliefs, there is broad bipartisan support for the idea that American taxpayers should not have to fund abortion,” that official added.

The PPP forgives government loans of businesses with 500 employees or fewer as long as they retain most of their employees. However, the companies must still pay interest on those loans, a requirement supervised by the Small Business Administration.

Despite having small affiliates across the country that employ fewer than 500 people, Planned Parenthood’s corporate structure precludes it from eligibility for the funds, the administration said. Because the largest abortion provider in the country retains a total of about 16,000 employees, it does not qualify for PPP funds.

Further outraged by Ohio, Texas, Iowa, Arkansas, Iowa, and Alabama temporary block of abortions as nonessential medical produces, the Democrats see this as more of an attack on the right of abortion. Sadly, most of these bans have been overturned in courts as activists are moving these to liberal courts to get the halts put on hold.

Congressional Republicans have tried to push repeatedly to have Planned Parenthood stripped of their $500 million in federal tax dollars. Still, they have to this point been repeatedly blocked by both Democrats and some from within their party.

The Trump administration has been also trying to curb funding to Planned Parenthood, making this a priority of their administration. So far they have forced Planned Parenthood to withdraw from Title X, the country’s family-planning program for low-income patients. This was done by a rule the Trump administration put in that prohibited any abortion provider from receiving any Title X funds.

I don’t see Trump doing something like this, but the left thinks he must be as petty as them. By putting in stipulations in the aid bill that neither Trump nor any of his family may receive any relief funds from the stimulus, they think what he is doing is vindictive. To be frank, if it was, I would not care, but don’t see this.
