Valerie Jarrett Bragging How Much Better Obama would Have Handled Epidemic
With the quick response that Trump and his Administration are handling this plague that is striking this nation, the last Administration is having none of it, now that they are no longer relevant, they are trying in desperation to thrust themselves back into the picture. In the latest, Valerie Jarret has been making the circuit, posting on Instagram how much better Obama would have handled this crisis, but is this true?
The reply to this was rather instantaneous; it seems she, like most Democrats, has an issue with selective memory.
One of Obama’s supporters posted this. We will fact check the so-called fact-checkers:
What is not stated here is that the Health Department acts outside the preview of the president, they can post national health crises and emergencies without any oversight from the White House, which is what they did, to claim that Obama had a hand in this is simply false, something NPR failed to note, thus were giving false facts by omission.ion.
What is essential is when did Obama act on this, we find a different picture, the White House with the Swine Flu waited until over 100,000 Americans were infected, over 1,000 had died before Obama stepped to the podium and issued a national emergency order. Both the fact-checkers and Valerie Jarrett commit an error in this.
But let’s take a step further, exposing these so-called fact-checking sites, FactCheck.org, just like NPR stated on March 13, 2020:
In one tweet, Trump quoted Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs as misleadingly claiming that it “took 6 months for President Obama to declare a National Emergency” for the H1N1 “swine flu” outbreak that “killed 12,000 Americans.” It’s true that Obama didn’t declare a national emergency for six months, but that ignores several other steps the administration took, including declaring a public health emergency the same month that the novel H1N1 infections were first reported.
At the time of the tweet, Trump had not yet declared a national emergency for COVID-19.
If you notice they speak of the public health emergency, this has nothing to do with the administration. Yet, they continue to give credit where it is due; it was the national emergency that took, so long, Trump issued one in three weeks, Obama and Jarrett did so in 6 months.
This is the problem I have with these fact-checking sites; they omit facts that would better inform due to they are not “convenient” to the narrative they are trying to present.
I do find it interesting that FactCheck did not come back and correct this, to leave it up shows how little interest they have in facts. Instead, they went off on a rant that Trump misstated his approval ratings.
By ignoring when the national emergency was issued, Valerie Jarrett and the so-called fact-checkers are presenting a narrative that is a lie by omission.
